Overview

Cornerstone is hiring a FOIA Analyst in Herndon, VA to support NPS FOIA intake, case management, records review, and redactions. The Analyst will ensure all responses meet FOIA statutory requirements, NPS policies, and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

Manage intake of FOIA requests via FOIAXpress, mail, and electronic sources.
Track and document requests through completion, maintaining case files.
Conduct record searches and collaborate with NPS staff to obtain responsive materials.
Review and analyze records for applicability of FOIA exemptions.
Redact sensitive/exempt information and prepare compliant release packages.
Assemble case documentation, including Vaughn indices, for requesters or litigation.
Draft acknowledgment, interim, and final response letters.
Maintain data integrity in FOIAXpress and perform periodic quality audits.
Submit weekly case status reports to leadership.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
Expert-level certifications in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat required.
Demonstrated knowledge of Section 508 accessibility compliance.
Ability to produce fillable forms that are error-free and accessibility-verified.
3+ years of FOIA support or federal records management experience.
Familiarity with FOIAXpress and e-discovery tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
